The Sentinel Retreat explores the Christian virtues of faith, courage, service, discipline, sacrifice, and the defense of neighbor through the historical examples of the Knights Hospitaller and the Knights Templar. With nothing less than giving their all, these Christian knights understood that strength was not for personal glory, but for service. That service included defending the weak, caring for the suffering, remaining steadfast in the faith, placing duty above comfort, and standing mightily for the Cross. Their history provides the modern Christian man with a powerful picture of disciplined lives, ordered toward a greater purpose. In a culture that often leaves men uncertain about their responsibilities and identity, the Church must form men to know what they believe, stand firm in their vocations, serve their families and neighbors, protect those entrusted to their care, and willingly sacrifice for the good of others.

The Sentinel Retreat invites men to learn from the virtues embodied by these historic Christian orders while grounding those virtues firmly in Holy Scripture and the example of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve. Through study, fellowship, reflection, and practical application, participants will be challenged to consider what it means to live as faithful Christian men who stand watch over what God has entrusted to them and serve Christ with courage, humility, and steadfastness.

General Information

 

Retreat Details:​​​

• Check-in: Thursday at the main dining hall at 7 p.m. The program will begin shortly after check in.

• Check-out: The retreat ends Saturday at 3 p.m.

• Lodging: Retreat-goers will be staying in Cornerstone Lodge.

Registration Information:

• Weekend Registration Price: $112/person. A nonrefundable deposit of $25 reserves a spot. The price covers meals, lodging, speakers, activities, and a really cool t-shirt. 

• Alternative registration for Friday-Saturday only is $90/person.

• Registration is complete when you've completed the Sentinel registration form and paid the $25/person deposit. Individuals can pay the registration online using the PayPal button on the home page of this website.
